Gothic Resources

Dark Side of the Net

Dark Side of the Net is the end-all of gothic resources. For your wedding, take a look at the Halloween Party ideas as reception brainstorming... and of course dark clothing shops and dark jewelry shops.

Black Page Directory

Your online Gothic & Alternative 'Yellow Pages'

For all things gothic, the black page directory is your resource to find what you’re looking for.

The Ghoul Next Door

Night of the Living Dead’s little zombie Kyra Schon is all grown up with a fabulous website, including goodies featuring the iconic imagery of young Karen Cooper from the 1968 classic zombie flick. An artist and sculptor, you can find her jewelry on her Etsy shop, Stone House Arts.

Wedding Gowns and Attire

Conscious Clothing

Conscious Clothing has unique environmentally friendly and sustainable/biodegradable hemp silk wedding gowns, for the Earth-conscious and non-traditional wedding. You won’t be giving up luxury, with their specialty fabrics. And for the trousseau, check out Conscious Clothing’s line of lingerie.

Kambriel

Kambriel has gorgeous gothic designs, and makes custom gothic attire. Also check out the jewelry available on her site.

Azrael’s Accomplice Designs

At Azrael’s Accomplice, you’ll find a selection of gothic wedding gowns, as well as custom corsets, accessories, and more.

Jewelry

edmdesigns

Operating through Etsy, edmdesigns has fantastic steampunk/industrial jewelry for a truly unique look. The designs run the gamut from harps and roses to skulls and scorpions, so no matter what your flair, you’ll find something appealing. These designs are worth a look, even if you’re not buying wedding jewelry. Custom designs are available on request.

Stone House Arts

For a little zombie bling, or even some more traditional jewelry, visit Kyra Schon's Etsy store, Stone House Arts. Iconic little-girl-zombie Karen Cooper from the classic film Night of the Living Dead, Kyra Schon is an artist and sculptor with the authorization to sell authentic little-girl-zombie imagery from the 1968 film as well as her evocative original work. Check out her personal website, The Ghoul Next Door, as well.

Cakes

Mike’s Amazing Cakes

We love Mike’s Amazing Cakes. Really, they’re amazing. If you’re looking for a unique, totally customized cake that looks like anything you want it to, Mike’s Amazing Cakes is the place to go. Check out their cakes just to gawk.

Jet City Cakes

Another mind-blowing customized cake bakery, Jet City Cakes is located in the Seattle, Washington area. Creators of such fantastic works as the famed leg lamp from A Christmas Story and a fantastical adaptation of H.R. Giger’s Alien designs (our favorite), their work is a must-see.

Charm City Cakes

For East Coasters, Charm City Cakes is home of incredible customized cakes, both stacked and shaped into any shape you can conjure up from your craziest dreams. Creators of the Millenium Falcon cake and an ancient stack of books by author Edgar Allan Poe (our favorite), Charm City Cakes has a cake for every event, theme, and predilection.

Let Them Eat Cake

Located in Southern California, Let Them Eat Cake makes some of the most elegant stacked cakes we’ve ever seen. Noteworthy designs include a figured stacked cake with a lean, curvy profile we can’t help but admire, and a Nightmare Before Christmas extravaganza which is, of course, our favorite.

Non-Traditional Officiants

The Witch’s Voice

A fantastic all-around neo-pagan resource, this site also lists pagan officiants by state. Click on Local Skills and Services, then your state, then Clergy.

Humanist Celebrants

Humanist Society celebrants perform non-religious ceremonies, same-sex unions, and interreligous ceremonies, an excellent resource for a non-traditional wedding. After all, we’re all human.

Universal Life Church

The Universal Life Church will ordain anyone as a minister with the ability to officiate at a wedding. (Be sure your minister has any needed local license!)

Color Palette Tools

Kuler

Adobe’s Kuler has a lot of advanced features, including uploading your own photo and picking colors right off the screen. The only disadvantage is, well, there are a lot of advanced features to sift through and figure out how to use. This is meant for designers... but on the other hand, anyone can sift through the many suggestions for palettes, and it’s a great tool for anyone picking a palette.

Color Hunter

Here’s another tool for picking color palettes from photos, or for searching through color palettes posted by others.

Color Lovers

Color Lovers has more color palettes... and also patterns and discussions of color. Definitely worth a look.
